We found this great little site the other day and thought it deserved a post.

Cooking By Numbers comes up with a handy recipe for whatever items you've got left in your fridge or cupboard.

You even have the option to click 'I feel lucky'- go on- click it and see what happens... ;-)

Unfortunately the flu has put Marie out of action. Fear not, she is firmly tucked up in bed and getting lots of rest. To anyone else whose caught a cold this winter, "GET WELL SOON!"

For cat lovers only.

This made us laugh so much, we had to post it. It features such a lovely animation by Simon Tofield. Soph's cat Pebbles, departed to kitty heaven last week, so seeing this cheered her up. Long live cats!

What a pile o'...

beautious delight: http://www.thoughtpile.org/

One of those sites that is simple and great in equal measure.

Brill for when you've been staring at your screen for more than two hours, emptiness and boredom filling every brain cell. The prospect of a sugary, fat filled lunch filling you with hope.

Thought pile. Thoughtful and fun.

Refresh take us on...

Looks like lady luck has decided to be on our side this week. Thankfully for us (and our bank managers), we found some freelance work from a funky agency in Ireland . Phew- Soph doesn't have to go back to Kings X. Or I to Tescos for nightshifts, for that matter ;-p

We're gonna be working on a brief for them later on this week. Fingers, toes, legs and arms crossed they like our work! Bring it on baby!

Little Big Planet

We've been playing this at Duke and can't get enough.

There's nothing more enjoyable than a bit of mashup.

Me and Soph love our food as much as we love our sleep-ins. Our day usually starts with a cheese and egg crepe, followed a few hours later, with a bit of Thai/Japanese/??????ese.

Thing is- food around Soho is a bit hit and miss. There's nothing more disappointing than a mediocre wrap or soup- or Sophie's put downs for that matter... ;-)

Wish we had eatbite in the UK- it's a new site that lets users browse through photos of individual dishes at local restaurants to find out what's on offer and how much they cost.

Check out Springwise for a thorough lowdown.

Mac VS PC

Marie, as the copywriter still survives on an old PC. Where as me, being the Mac Monkey, a.k.a. art director, likes to use a trusty Macbook Pro.

Which laptop would win in a show down? Need I ask...

"Once you go Mac, you never go back!" as quoted by moi ;-).

It's off to work we go

Well it's our fourth day at Duke and it's all going well. We're working with a great bunch of people and learning new stuff every day. Unfortunately we can't tell you what we are working on, as it's top secret! But as soon as we are able to reveal all, you will be the first to know.

3,2,1, Action!

Madness. This week was utter madness. We had to up the tempo and mac up 5 campaigns in one week! Talk about working under pressure... This afternoon we presented our ideas to Duke Interactive. Luckily the guys there were really cool and liked our ideas. Phew!!! We're floating on cloud 9 now- wooo hoooo! Next week we'll be evolving our concepts for Sheba, with the help of the guys and gals over at Duke.

We really hope a client climbs on board and makes this baby come to life! We need a lucky break and hopefully this is it.

Virals, Youtube, websites. Obama nailed them.

If anyone doubts the potential of digital, they should head to: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7412045.stm.

'Digital' will now (fingers crossed) get the respect and recognition it deserves. Digital will hopefully be able to shake off it's geeky image, attract big brands with big budgets & balls, and free creatives from the constraints placed on them by conservative thinkers. With digital, the sky really is the limit. We hope that we will be part of the exponential growth that is yet to come!

The All-Seeing Eye (Hardcore techno version)

Yesterday we visited a kick-ass exhibition over at the BFI. It was a collaboration between the director of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and Pierre Bismuth, a visual artist.

They used a rotating projector to create a 360-view of various rooms. This 'art' was created to evoke the sensation that your memories were being lost & erased, simply by means of time passing.

This 'moment of displacement' and was supposed to be part of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

This exhibition got us thinking- why can't digital advertisers collaborate with great minds outside advertising? If advertisers continue to assume that inspiration can be gained from pencil-winning ads and insights gained from planners, then how will digital advertising ever be original, avant-garde or be able to reflect the interests of the people who make up society as it is today, or tomorrow?

Is there a place where creative folk, and even non-creative folk can share their creativity and ideas with each other? Pecha Kucha nights are one such place, however the crowds that tend to go, are from design backgrounds. Marie worked at D&AD and assisted at Awards Judging, but she found the judges tended to stick to people they already knew and just small talked about the weather, down the pub. Wouldn't it be wonderful if there was a weekend away, on-line place where you could listen to people from film, SFX folk, singers, flower arrangers and DJs? A place where you could learn from and inspire one another.

Our budget is a little constrained to put on an international symposium promoting creativity, but if you have a few million to spare, please do get in touch!

Where is the Sun?

Praise the Sun.
For it is so yellow and round
And warm and far away.
Praise the sun.
For it is like a huge jacket potato
i.e. dense and hot.
I like the Sun. Oh the Sun. Oh Sun...

Our very first post!

Ahoy there! We've been working at the RFH, for the past fortnight or so, nurturing our babies, in the hope that they will dazzle and impress the creative director over at the French digital agency, Duke. We have a fabuuuulous view of the Thames, and our trusty Caffe Vergnano 1833 is just a hop, skip and a jump away, making the lushest coffees around- our minds are fuelled and ready for action! Bring it on baby!
